A good, fairly solid downloading app
Download Shuttle is a good little downloader workhorse app. It does the job pretty quickly – its segmented file transfer aspect (a 5-section split) is well-executed, providing faster downloads. While recent versions have improved, there are still some kinks that need to be worked out. For example, it occasionally downloads as one segment creating an empty file but thinks it downloaded the entire target file successfully. But that rarely happens now. Also, FIPLAB’s Download Shuttle User Guide and support aren’t so great, but at least user guide exists now – it didn’t for a while. However, it was basically easy enough to figure out how to use it on my own. Lastly, for some unknown reason, when I first started using this app, it sort of didn’t work at all. Maybe it was an early version, but it actually felt as though the app had to get used to my computer – once it did, though, its performance improved greatly. So you might need to be a little patient at the beginning.
Complaints aside, I like this app a lot and gladly recommend it.
